WE WON!
The 1:4 campaign has been WON!
We’ve worked on the campaign over the past five years – the campaign to make introduce a 1 to 4 ratio for staff to children under two – and the NSW Government has just announced that all centre-based and mobile services will be required by law to have one carer for every four children under two, compared to the current legal requirement of one carer for every five. The change will be implemented in the new Children’s Services Regulation, due to be implemented in 2010.
Community Child Care wishes to congratulate everyone that has supported the 1:4 campaign, and everyone that has helped to make NSW a 1:4 state – it took us a while, but we finally got there!
